TORONTO, June 1 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board (the Board) issued
a Rate Order to reflect its Decision on 2009 electricity distribution rates
for Hydro One Networks Inc. (Hydro One). The new rates are effective May 1,
2009, but are not implemented until June 1, 2009.
Hydro One applied to the Board for a rate adjustment to the delivery
portion of a customer's bill that would have resulted in an increase of about
4.3%. As a result of its review, the Board approved an adjustment that results
in an increase of about 3.4%. The delivery portion makes up approximately
one-third of the total bill.
In a previous decision, the Board approved the harmonization of the rates
for Hydro One's legacy and acquired utilities through a phased process over
four years. Therefore, the bill impacts on the delivery portion of a
customer's bill resulting from this and the previous Board decision will vary
