TORONTO, Oct. 22 /CNW/ - Today the Ontario Energy Board (the Board)
issued a Rate Order for a Decision on a 2008 electricity distribution rate
application for Sioux Lookout Hydro Inc. (Sioux Lookout). The new distribution
rates are effective July 1, 2008, but will not be implemented until
November 1, 2008.
Distribution rates are set to recover the cost to deliver electricity to
consumers based on an individual utility's cost to provide electricity
service. Distribution rates are reflected in the "Delivery" line of consumers'
As a result of this Decision, the delivery portion of the bill associated
with the cost to distribute electricity will decrease by approximately 15% for
Sioux Lookout's residential customers. The total monthly bill for residential
consumers paying the regulated price of electricity will decrease by
approximately 3.5% from a bill issued between May 1 and October 31, 2008.
