NSSBA responds to cabinet shuffle

DARTMOUTH, NS, Jan. 8 /CNW/ - The Nova Scotia School Boards Association
(NSSBA) would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of former
Education Minister Karen Casey and welcome newly appointed Minister Judy
Streatch to the education portfolio.
The announcement came yesterday at the Nova Scotia Legislature at 2 p.m.
that Judy Streatch had been appointed as Minister of Education for the
province. "We'd like to congratulate Minister Streatch on her appointment and
sincerely thank former Education Minister Casey for her significant
contribution to the public education system," said NSSBA president Ronald G.
The NSSBA looks forward to working with Minister Streatch who has 15
years experience as an educator. "We will be collaborating and consulting on
important issues affecting students," says Marks.
Minister Casey joined the cabinet in June 2006. Her extensive education
experience contributed to her in-depth knowledge of the education system and
her awareness of the issues, challenges and concerns facing school boards. Her
involvement and support of NSSBA initiatives is greatly appreciated. The NSSBA
wishes her well in her new role as Minister of Health.

The NSSBA is the provincial voice for school boards.
