NSERC Donation Broadens SAE Foundation Program in Canada

    WARRENDALE, Pa., March 2 /CNW/ -- SAE International's A World In
Motion(R) (AWIM) program now will be available to more Canadian school
students because of a $76,100 donation from the National Sciences and Research
Engineering Council (NSERC).
Through AWIM, math and science come to life for students in grades 4
through 10. AWIM provides interactive learning experiences through its
"Challenges" (its series of four curricula). Each AWIM Challenge is developed
around current math, science and technology standards. The donation to the SAE
Foundation Canada, to be paid in three installments, supports AWIM throughout
that nation.
"I want to thank NSERC for their generous donation to the A World In
Motion program," Carson Walburn, SAE Foundation Canada Director, said. "The
funding will help us offer this dynamic, effective curricula to even more
Canadian students. NSERC should be commended for its vision and commitment to
advancing math and science."
A part of SAE International, the SAE Foundation Canada supports and
nurtures students' enthusiasm for science and technology through educational
outreach programs, awards and scholarships. Programs such A World In Motion
and the Collegiate Design Series offer hands-on learning through fun and
challenging curricula to elementary school and college students.
