Now shooting!! - Christal Films a co-producer of MR. NOBODY, a film by Jaco Van Dormael, with Jared Leto and Sarah Polley - a Canada/France/Belgium/Germany co-production

MONTREAL, June 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Christian Larouche and Christian Gagné
announce with pride their role as co-producer for Mr. Nobody, the latest film
written and directed by Jaco Van Dormael (Toto le héros (Toto the Hero), Le
Huitième jour (The Eighth Day)), and produced by Philippe Godeau (Somebody
Production). Filming began in Belgium on June 4, and will move to Montreal and
the surrounding area - the Canadian segment of this production - for a total
of 25 days running from September 8 to October 11. This English-language
production will star Jared Leto (Requiem for a Dream), Sarah Polley (The
Secret Life of Words, Away From Her (director)) as well as Canadian actors
Clare Stone, Michael Riley and Emily Tilson. The movie will be filmed over a
total of 120 days, in Belgium, Montreal and Germany.
Mr. Nobody tells the story of Nemo, the world's oldest man. In 2092, Mars
has become a trendy vacation destination and humans have now achieved
immortality, thanks to advances in genetics. At the age of 120 years, an old
man called Nemo - played by Jared Leto - is the last mortal left on Earth. His
death is drawing near, and media from all over the world are eager to cover
the event. Nemo doesn't really remember who he is, and is only able, while
under hypnosis, to recall a few snippets of disordered memories.
The team put together by French producer Philippe Godeau (Somebody
Production) includes associate producers Daniel Marquet, Mark Gill, Alexandre
Lippens and Geneviève Lemal (Scope), co-producers Jaco Van Dormael (Toto & Co
Films - Belgium), Alfred Huermer & Marco Mehlitz (Mr Nobody Deutschland -
Germany), Marco Mehlitz (Lago Film - Germany), Christian Larouche and
Christian Gagné (Christal Films Productions - Canada), and executive producer
Jean-Yves Asselin.
Mr. Nobody will be distributed by Pathé (France), Concorde (Germany),
Belga Films (Belgium) and Christal Films (Canada). Wild Bunch will be
responsible for international sales. The total budget for this production is
33 million euros.
