Noveko signs an agreement with China National Service Corporation to introduce and market its antimicrobial filtration technology in China

    EKO / TSX Venture Exchange

MONTREAL, Oct. 10 /CNW Telbec/ - Management of Noveko International Inc.
("Noveko" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the signature of an
agreement between the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary Noveko Inc., its
exclusive agent in Asia, Unitam Inc. ("Unitam"), and China National Service
Corporation ("CNSC"). Reporting directly under the State-Owned Assets
Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council of
China, CNSC is one of China 's most prominent state-owned companies, dealing
with businesses of international cooperation, service and Chinese Government
sponsored projects worldwide Pursuant to the two-year agreement, renewable for
an additional two-year term, CNSC has been mandated to promote Noveko's
antimicrobial filtration technology to all levels of Chinese governments and
its related food and health organizations, to obtain the government
authorizations required for the commercialization of Noveko's technology, and
to develop the supporting sales and distribution channels in China for
Noveko's state-of-the-art technology antimicrobial face masks and air filters
that are unique worldwide. CNSC will also provide Noveko with monitoring and
enforcement services in the Chinese market to prevent any infringement of
Noveko's intellectual property rights and trademarks.
This agreement follows the signature, a few months ago, of a strategic
partnership between Noveko and Unitam, a consulting company specializing in
representing North American companies in Asian markets and vice-versa, and who
is also CNSCs representative in North America. Unitam's mandate for Noveko in
Asia consists, more specifically, in providing sales representation, in
identifying potential business partners for Noveko, in managing the
relationship between the two parties and in overseeing the production and
quality control of the antimicrobial finished products to ensure that they
meet Noveko's manufacturing standards.
André Leroux, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Noveko
says he is very enthusiastic about this initial breakthrough in Asia, with
such high-calibre partners. "Asian markets, beginning with China, should be
among the primary producers and consumers of antimicrobial face masks and air
filters in the future, and hence hold strong potential for derivative products
of Noveko's antimicrobial technology. For instance, the Chinese hog industry
offers a particularly promising opportunity for our antimicrobial filtration
technology given its size (China produces more than 600 million hogs annually)
and the government's determination to improve the industry quality and
productivity standards in order not only to meet domestic demand, but also to
increase exports. Our technology could also contribute to enhance the added
value of other key agricultural sectors in China, such as the avian industry.
Finally, we are looking with our partners into the considerable potential that
the Chinese public healthcare sector holds for our antimicrobial face masks."
Alain Bolduc, President and Chief Operating Officer of Noveko, added that
this new business agreement in China, attest to the added value the market
increasingly attributes to Noveko's antimicrobial technology due to its proven
effectiveness in trapping and destroying bacteria and viruses, and the
economic advantages it can thereby provide for breeders. "Noveko's
antimicrobial air filters are a front-line means of prevention for livestock
farms, which require reliable and effective means of protection against
pandemics that might decimate their livestock herds and potentially affect
human health. They will definitely contribute to ensure optimal sanitation in
livestock farms, which is a priority for the near term for breeders."
