First sales of antimicrobial air filters to large hog breeding farms in
    Ontario and the U.S.
    (EKO-TSX Venture Exchange)

MONTREAL, Aug. 23 /CNW Telbec/ - NOVEKO INTERNATIONAL INC. ("Noveko" or
"the Company") announces that it has concluded its first sales of
antimicrobial air filters to two large hog breeding farms in Ontario and
Utah, U.S. These orders are the initial results of the exclusive distribution
agreement entered into in April between Noveko and Monitrol, a North American
leader in ventilation software and hardware for farm buildings. They represent
sales of $0.4 million, which cover the antimicrobial air filters and the
hermetic structures needed to install these filters in some ten farm
"We are pleased with these initial benefits, which are moreover promising
since the breeding farms that have signed these first antimicrobial air filter
orders count several hundred buildings, providing the potential to extend the
orders to their other operating infrastructures, and also since the filters
are renewed an average of once a year. The operators selected our air filters
for the key advantage of our patented antimicrobial technology, specifically
its ability to trap and destroy pathogens at the filter's surface, including
viruses that might infect hog farms and potentially affect human health,"
indicated Alain Bolduc, President and Chief Operating Officer of Noveko.
Monitrol benefits from a North American network of 300 distributors and
1,500 sales agents. It is currently negotiating with some fifty breeding farms
in North America while pursuing its market development and building its order
backlog, focusing on Western Canada, Quebec and Ontario. It should be pointed
out the North American hog and poultry breeding market represents some
125 million linear feet of air filters and potential revenues of approximately
US$1.3 billion from the sale of these filters.
