Nova Scotia rock band, The Contact, on two month international tour

    HALIFAX, Aug. 10 /CNW Telbec/ - Eirinn Fraser Enterprise - The Contact
start their voyage to the United States for a two month stretch on the Rock
Hop and Roll Tour with fellow Canadian band Red Umbrella and American band
Heath McNease. This trip will have them performing in over 10 states doing 30+
shows with the list growing. The boys are pleased to be hitting the road with
a few new friends courtesy of Gibson Guitars; SG 61 reissue electric guitar,
ES 335 electric guitar and a SG bass. This looks to be a promising promotional
tour for The Contact and will continue with a November home show in Halifax
and a Canadian tour this fall - tba.
Their first single, Black Sea, is presently number one on The East Coast
Countdown, a nationally syndicated program featuring the best of east coast
music. All this on the verge of their sophomore album release, "The Canvas
Tears," a remarkable epic journey from start to finish. The album touches on
the struggles, triumphs, and the ups and downs we all experience throughout
our lives. It is beautifully expressed through Geoffrey Fifield's words and
accompanied by the collaboration of the other diverse members; Nathan
Elliot-Doucet, Jordon Allen, and Tim Fifield. The result, an illustrious
collision of sound that is concise, melodic, and refreshing with seamless
rhythm, soulful bass, rock'in drums, and brilliantly placed lyrics. The
Contact's music is light enough for all ages, heavy enough to rock out, and
words so truthful that everyone can appreciate them.
The Contact has put years of preparation and months of hard work into
making this independent album a reality. Only the best were brought on this
project, including a Grammy award winning producer, Quinlan, mixing by Chuck
Zwicky (Prince, Chantel Kreviazuk, Soul Asylum), graphics by Invisible
Creature (Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Good Charlotte), mastered by Dave
Collins (The Police, Bruce Springsteen, Soundgarden), engineering by Lil
Thomas, and recording at The Sonic Temple (Halifax, Nova Scotia) and The
Fiction Room (Columbus, Ohio). It truly is a labour of love that has surpassed
their expectations, hoping it meets yours. For more information, an up to date
