Olympic medallist Josée Bélanger joins the group of
ambassadors of the new sports complex
SAINT-LAURENT, QC, June 16, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to take part in an exclusive tour of Saint-Laurent's new sports complex—the Complexe sportif de Saint-Laurent—located at 2385 boulevard Thimens, at its official inauguration on Monday, June 19, at 9 a.m.
In order to promote the upcoming programs and activities at the new Complexe sportif, the Borough has chosen several ambassadors from the sports world. Please note that this sports complex is scheduled to open to the public on August 19 and celebrate this event with a Fête sportive (grand sports festivities). The Complexe sportif will become a new centre for sports events and one of the rare few indoor soccer fields in Greater Montréal.
Saint-Laurent Mayor Alan DeSousa will announce the names of the high-profile athletes that will be promoting physical activity among youngsters this summer, along with Josée Bélanger, Bronze soccer medallist at the Rio Olympics in 2016. He will also be accompanied by Jean-Marc Fournier, minister responsible for Canadian Relations and the Canadian Francophonie and MNA for Saint-Laurent, and by architect Gilles Saucier. Les Environs, the public work of art created by Mathieu Gaudet, will be unveiled at this official inauguration as well.
