Notice to public: Settlement hearing - In the matter of Xavier Cheng Kuo Li

    VANCOUVER, June 29 /CNW/ - The Investment Dealers Association of Canada
(IDA) announced today that a hearing will be held before a Hearing Panel
appointed pursuant to By-law 20 for the presentation, review and consideration
of a Settlement Agreement.
    The Settlement Agreement is between IDA staff and Mr. Li, who was at all
material times, a Registered Representative with a Richmond sub-branch office
of Edward Jones, a Member of the IDA, and relates to matters for which he may
be disciplined. The conduct that is the subject of the hearing occurred during
the period from December, 2005 to January, 2006. The allegations against Mr.
Li include: that without the knowledge and consent of the signatories, he
caused the instructions on a form that had been signed, to be altered; he
purchased securities for an account without the knowledge and consent of the
account holders; and he attempted to settle a client complaint without the
knowledge and consent of his employer. Mr. Li is currently employed as a
Registered Representative by another Member of the IDA.
    The hearing is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13,
2007, at the IDA Boardroom located at 2800 - 1055 West Georgia Street,
Vancouver, British Columbia. The hearing is not open to the public unless and
until the Settlement Agreement has been accepted by the Hearing Panel. Copies
of the decision of the Hearing Panel and the settlement agreement will be made
available if and when the Settlement Agreement is accepted by the Hearing
