Notice to Public: Settlement Hearing - In the matter of Peak Securities Inc.

    MONTREAL, June 28 /CNW/ - The Investment Dealers Association of Canada
(IDA) announced today that a hearing will be held before a Hearing Panel
appointed pursuant to By-law 20 for the presentation and review of a
Settlement Agreement.
    The Settlement Agreement is between Staff of the IDA and Peak Securities
Inc., which was at all material times a Member firm of the IDA, and relates to
matters for which the firm may be disciplined. The conduct which is the
subject of the hearing occurred in July 2004. The charges against Peak
Securities Inc. notably include the following violations:

    -   On July 15, 2004, Peak Securities Inc. found itself in a capital
        deficiency position for the amount of $59,000, contrary to
        By-law 17.1;
    -   In July 2004, Peak Securities Inc. had not finished implementing
        control measures relative to activities that have an impact on Risk
        Adjusted Capital - although it was completed subsequently - contrary
        to By-law 17.2A.

    The hearing is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. on July 11, 2007, at
the IDA offices located at 1 Place Ville-Marie, Suite 2802, Montréal, Québec.
The hearing will not be open to the public until the Settlement Agreement has
been accepted by the Hearing Panel. Copies of the decision of the Hearing
Panel and the Settlement Agreement will be distributed when the Settlement
Agreement is accepted by the Hearing Panel.
