Notice to public: Disciplinary hearing in the matter of Sarkis Sarkissian

    MONTREAL, Feb. 29 /CNW/ - The Investment Dealers Association of Canada
(IDA) announced today that a hearing will be held before a Hearing Panel
appointed pursuant to By-law 20, in respect of matters for which Sarkis
Sarkissian may be disciplined. At all material times, Mr. Sarkissian was a
registered representative (mutual funds) at the Montréal branch of iForum
Securities Inc., a former IDA Member firm.
    The nature of the misconduct that will be the subject of the disciplinary
hearing is summarized below:

    -   Between September 2002 and July 2003, Mr. Sarkissian failed to learn
        and remain informed of the essential facts relative to five of his

    -   Between May 2002 and November 2004, Mr. Sarkissian effected
        transactions not permitted under the terms of the approval granted by
        the IDA;

    -   Between November 2002 and December 2003, Mr. Sarkissian failed to use
        due diligence when accepting instructions given by a mandatary;

    -   Between November 2002 and February 2003, and in February 2004, Mr.
        Sarkissian participated in stratagems to the detriment of certain of
        his clients;

    -   Between 2003 and 2004, Mr. Sarkissian facilitated the sale of shares,
        which were not a mutual fund security and were not recorded in the

    -   In November 2005, Mr. Sarkissian had under his responsibility the
        accounts of clients of a federally chartered trust company, where
        said clients held securities other than mutual fund securities,
        without said securities being recorded in the books;

    -   Between 2001 and 2006, Mr. Sarkissian failed to provide and to update
        the information required by the IDA.

    Mr. Sarkissian has not been employed with an IDA Member firm since
August 10, 2006.
    The hearing is scheduled to commence at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, March 17,
2008, and will continue on March 18, 19 and 20, 2008, April 28 and 29, 2008,
and May 1, 2, 14 and 15, 2008, at the Centre Mont-Royal, 220 Mansfield Street,
Montréal, Québec, Room Mansfield 6. The hearing is open to the public except
as may be required for the protection of confidential matters. Copies of the
decision of the Hearing Panel will be made available.
