Notice to public: Disciplinary hearing in the matter of John Anastasious Collias

    VANCOUVER, Jan. 31 /CNW/ - The Investment Dealers Association of Canada
(IDA) announced today that a hearing will be held before a Hearing Panel
appointed pursuant to By-law 20 in respect of matters for which Mr. Collias at
all material times a Registered Representative at Golden Capital Securities
Ltd., may be disciplined.
    The hearing relates to allegations that in January and February 2005, Mr.
Collias failed to properly perform his role as gatekeeper to the capital
markets and acted contrary to By-law 29.1 and/or Regulation 1300.1 (a) by:

    (a) failing to make diligent inquiries to ensure that he learned about
        the essential facts of two clients with respect to the opening of
        their accounts; and

    (b) facilitating certain transactional activity in three client accounts
        without making diligent inquiries to ensure the legitimacy of the
        transactions in circumstances which should have called the
        transactional activity into question because it was peculiar,
        suspicious or appeared to be consistent with market manipulation,
        deception or other improper market related activity.

    Mr. Collias is currently employed as a Registered Representative at
Gateway Securities Inc. in Vancouver, BC.
    The hearing is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. on April 14, 2008 at
Reportex Agencies Ltd., 1010 - 925 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, BC. The
hearing is open to the public except as may be required for the protection of
confidential matters. Copies of the decision of the Hearing Panel will be made
