Notice to Public: Disciplinary hearing in the matter of Global Securities Corporation

    VANCOUVER, Aug. 14 /CNW/ - The Investment Dealers Association of Canada
(IDA) announced today that a hearing will be held before a Hearing Panel
appointed pursuant to By-law 20 in respect of matters for which Global
Securities Corporation, (Global) a Member firm whose head office is in
Vancouver, may be disciplined.
    The hearing relates to allegations that between March 1999 and February
2001, Global acted contrary to By-law 29.1, Regulation 1300.2, and/or
Policy 2, by failing to properly supervise the account opening and
transactional activities of its Registered Representative Stephen Brook Toban
with respect to as many as 35 counts for United States resident clients and
the deposit and transfer of cash and shares to and from those accounts.
    The hearing is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September
17, 2007, and continue until September 28, 2007, at Reportex Agencies Ltd-
Suite 1010 Cathedral Place, 925 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, British
Columbia. The hearing is open to the public except as may be required for the
protection of confidential matters. Copies of the decision of the Hearing
Panel will be made available.
