VANCOUVER, Aug. 5 /CNW/ - Norwood Resources Ltd. (the "Company") is
pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. David Grellman to the position of
Vice President Operations ("VPO"). The Company welcomes him as a key member of
its management team.
As VPO, Mr. Grellman will report to the Chief Operating Officer of the
Company, Mr. Lee DiStefano. His primary responsibilities will be to implement
and manage Norwood's corporate drilling objectives and the development of a
practical and effective infrastructure to support all aspects of the Company's
drilling, testing and production operations. This will include developing an
effective supplier network and logistics system and managing contractor
relationships. Mr. Grellman will also be responsible for the Company's HSE
(Health, Safety & Environmental) policy and to ensure its compliance with
Nicaraguan and International oilfield standards and practices.
Mr. Grellman has 36 years experience in the global oil and gas industry
primarily in the well operations. He began his career in 1972 with Exlog, and
in 1978 joined Cities Service Oil Company, which was later acquired by
Occidental Oil and Gas. During his time with Occidental he worked in drilling
operations in more than 20 countries. Starting as a well-site geologist, Mr.
Grellman progressed to become General Manager in four countries (Papua New
Guinea, Australia, Pakistan, Albania) and was responsible for managing all
phases of drilling programs from inception to completion, integrating
operations, planning, budget, government relations, contract negotiation and
administration and HSE functions. His most recent position at Occidental was
Manager of Exploration Operations. Mr. Grellman graduated from the University
of Sydney with majors in geology and economics in 1972.
The Company has granted 250,000 incentive stock options to Mr. Grellman
under the terms of the Company's stock option plan. The options will be
exercisable for a period of five years at a price of $1.19 per share and are
subject to the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange.
