    VANCOUVER, BC and LIMA, Peru, Dec. 13 /CNW/ - Norsemont Mining Inc. ("the
Company") (TSX: NOM, BVL: NOM) today announced the filing on SEDAR
( of a Technical Report required under National Instrument
43-101 in respect of the Preliminary Assessment (Scoping Study) for the
Company's Constancia copper-molybdenum-silver porphyry project in southern
Peru. The Technical Report was prepared by SRK Consulting. Norsemont
previously announced the results of the Constancia Scoping Study in a news
release dated November 5, 2007. The Technical Report is also available on the

    About Norsemont Mining

    Norsemont Mining is a Canadian mineral exploration and development
company focused on the Constancia Cu-Mo-Ag deposit in southern Peru. Norsemont
currently controls an undivided 64% interest in the Constancia Project, which
interest is set to increase to 81% in the event that Rio Tinto does not
exercise a claw-back right prior to January 31, 2008. Norsemont can then
acquire the remaining 19% interest in Constancia by March 31, 2008 through a
payment of US$8M to Rio Tinto. The Constancia Project has a 43-101 compliant
indicated resource of 70M tonnes (0.8 Billion lbs Cu) and an inferred resource
of 250M tonnes (2.8 Billion lbs Cu).
