- Nissan Canada Inc. makes donation to local food bank for those less
fortunate this holiday season -
VANCOUVER, Dec. 20 /CNW/ - The best way to enjoy the holiday season is to
spread some cheer to others and this week that is exactly what Nissan
employees have done with a donation of over $6,000 to the Greater Vancouver
"The Greater Vancouver Food Bank is an important resource to many
families in the area," said Wendy Durward Director, Marketing and
Communication for Nissan Canada Inc. "Nissan employees are proud of the
communities in which we work and live and we wanted to show our support to our
neighbours in need during the holiday season."
The Greater Vancouver Food Bank feeds over 9,000 people each week from
its 16 depots located Burnaby, New Westminster, Vancouver and the North Shore.
With no government funding, the Food Bank relies on corporate donations and on
the generosity of the public to feed those in need of assistance.
Nissan is proud to provide support in Canadian communities. In 1993 the
Nissan Canada Foundation was incorporated as an independent philanthropic
organization. In partnership with Nissan dealers, the foundation provides
roughly 50 new vehicles each year to Meals on Wheels organizations across
