Nissan Canada Announces Pricing on All-New 2009 Murano

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Jan. 25 /CNW/ - Nissan Canada Inc. today announced
pricing on the all-new, totally redesigned 2009 Nissan Murano crossover with a
starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) $3,450 lower than the
previous generation vehicle. The 2009 Murano goes on sale this month at Nissan
dealers across Canada.
The original Nissan Murano set new standards for style and sportiness
when it was first introduced, becoming, in essence, a "class of one." The
all-new, second generation 2009 Murano elevates that unique position with new
exterior and interior designs, enhanced technology and a premium driving feel
that is the result of its new platform architecture, the refinement of
Murano's award winning 265 HP V6 engine (an increase of 25 horsepower over the
previous generation) and its advanced, second-generation Xtronic CVT(TM).
"When Murano was introduced in 2003, there were only nine vehicles in the
middle crossover segment. Since then, the segment has grown to more than 30
model offerings," said Ian Forsyth, Director, Corporate and Product Planning,
Nissan Canada Inc. "We're pricing the all-new Murano to take advantage of the
growing interest in the segment and adding standout value to its standout
design, quality and safety features to ensure Murano continues to be the
segment benchmark."
For the 2009 model year, all Murano models come standard equipped with
Nissan's intuitive all-wheel drive system that adjusts torque to the wheels,
depending on the road conditions, in a mere tenth of a second. This advanced
system links the Murano VDC system yaw sensors, wheel slip sensors and
steering angle sensors to the AWD system to maximize traction in all weather
conditions. The 2009 Murano will be offered in three models: Murano S AWD,
Murano SL AWD and a new Murano LE AWD model. FWD models are discontinued in
Canada for the 2009 model year.
The 2009 Murano S AWD starts at an MSRP of $37,648 and comes fully
equipped with intelligent Xtronic CVT(TM), dual-zone, automatic air
conditioning, privacy glass, push button start ignition, 60/40 split fold-flat
rear seat, in-dash, 6-disc CD changer with six speakers and auxiliary audio
input jack, 18-inch alloy wheels, tilt/telescope steering wheel, Traction
Control System (TCS) with Vehicle Dynamic Control System (VDC), front side
seat airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags and much more. The S AWD
model now starts at a price $1,450 lower than where the entry-level Murano SL
FWD began in the 2007 model year.
The Murano SL AWD, starting at $39,348 offers all the features on Murano
S plus: front fog lights, steering wheel mounted audio controls, a leather
wrapped steering wheel, 8-way power driver's seat, power flip-up rear seats,
an 11 speaker Bose(R) audio system with XMTM satellite radio feature,
seven-inch LCD colour display screen with rearview camera, heated front cloth
seats and much more. The starting price of the 2009 SL AWD model is actually
$1,750 lower than the starting price of the 2007 SL AWD model and includes
almost $2,000 worth of new features not available on the previous generation
Available options on the SL AWD model include the new top-load Moonroof
Package with second row skylight that retails for $1,500 as well as a new

alloy wheels, an iPod(R) connector that integrates into the audio system
controls, driver position memory system (seat, mirrors and power tilt and

both front and rear, woodgrain trim accents and more. The starting price of
the leather-equipped 2009 LE AWD model is $1,100 lower than the starting price
of the leather-equipped 2007 SE AWD model it replaces and includes over $3,500
more in added feature value content.
There are two option packages available on the Murano LE AWD. The
