News Advisory - Employment Scheme cooked up by Hallmark, Violating ESA, Janitors, SEIU Allege

    MPP Cheri DiNovo (Parkdale-High Park) to voice concerns at news

    TORONTO, Oct. 22 /CNW/ - Janitors will disclose details of what they say
are practices which violate the Employment Standards Act by their employer
Hallmark Housekeeping Services Inc. in a news conference Tuesday morning.
    The Service Employees International Union Local 2 (SEIU) say they have
gathered evidence suggesting Hallmark's practices are violating workers
rights, creating downward pressure cleaning industry standards, and having a
negative effect on the public interest.
    MPP Cheri DiNovo (Parkdale-High Park) has heard the workers' concerns and
will address them at the news conference.
