New Wind Power to Meet Growing Ontario Demand for Bullfrog Power(TM)

Bullfrog signs agreement with Magnum Wind Energy for more wind power

TORONTO, Jan. 20 /CNW/ - Bullfrog Power, Canada's only 100 per cent green
electricity retailer, and Magnum Wind Energy Corp., a Canadian developer of
renewable energy projects, today announced an agreement for Bullfrog Power to
purchase all of the power from Magnum's newly completed wind turbine near
Zurich, Ontario, to meet the demand of Bullfrog Power's growing base of
residential and commercial green power customers. Bullfrog's financial
commitment provides the security and enhanced revenue stream necessary for
this turbine development to be completed.
Bullfrog Power sources power exclusively from low-impact hydro and wind
generators, such as Magnum Wind Energy, that meet or exceed the federal
government's Environmental Choice(M) Program EcoLogo(M) standard for renewable
electricity. Bullfrog Power provides businesses, organizations and consumers
with a new way to support the continued supply and further development of
renewable power.
"We're thrilled to announce this new partnership," said Tom Heintzman,
President, Bullfrog Power. "The ongoing commitment and growth of Bullfrog's
customer base is enabling us to add more wind power to the electricity grid on
their behalf, and that's what Bullfrog Power is all about. Together, we're
helping Ontario become a leader in renewable power and improving the health of
the environment for future generations."
"The price premium offered by Bullfrog Power is an incentive to wind
energy developers," said Charles Edey, President, Magnum Wind Energy Corp.
"Bullfrog Power customers provide a green premium that spurs the amount of new
renewable electricity being generated in the province."
Since its launch in September 2005, Bullfrog Power has grown rapidly,
signing up more than 7,500 residential customers and over 800 commercial
customers from across Ontario and Alberta. Bullfrog's customers, who choose to
direct their electricity dollars toward EcoLogo(M)-certified, emissions-free
renewable power, are enabling the development of new wind power in Ontario and
the creation of a consumer-driven green power market.
Magnum's wind project represents the fifth new renewable generation
project to be developed in Canada to meet the growing demand of Bullfrog Power
residential and commercial green power customers.
