New Regional Director of the National Parole Board in Atlantic

    OTTAWA, Aug. 27 /CNW Telbec/ - The Chairperson of the National Parole
Board, Mr. Mario Dion, is pleased to announce today the appointment of
Mr. Brian Chase as the new Regional Director for the Atlantic Region of the
National Parole Board.
    Mr. Chase is a native of Moncton, New Brunswick. He graduated from
Polyvalente Mathieu Martin and attended Mount Allison University where he
graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Psychology.
He then attended L'Université de Moncton where he studied clinical psychology.
    Mr. Chase began his career in the public service in 1987 with the
Correctional Service Canada where he held a number of positions including
parole officer, coordinator of case management and unit manager. In August of
1996 he joined the National Parole Board as regional manager, community
relations and training.
    Mr. Chase is currently the chairperson of the Public Safety Advisory
Committee for the City of Moncton as well as the chairperson of the
New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island chapter of the Canadian Criminal
Justice Association.
    Mr. Chase replaces Art Robson who retired in June of this year after
35 years of public service.

    The regional director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the
National Parole Board and providing administrative support to the
decision-making responsibilities of the Board
