            New and Returning Series Join 'A' Mid-Season Schedule

     - New season of DANCING WITH THE STARS premieres March 9 on 'A' and
     anchors new Monday night line-up also featuring new drama CASTLE -
       - Cycle 12 of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL premieres February 25 -
               - LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON debuts March 2 -

    TORONTO, Feb. 10 /CNW/ - 'A' is where it's at this winter, as the network
announced today the return of viewer favourites and eagerly-awaited new series
being added to the mid-season schedule. Among the exciting additions to A's
programming slate is Season 8 of Top 20 hit series DANCING WITH THE STARS,
airing in simulcast Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT beginning March 9. DANCING WITH
THE STARS anchors an all-new Monday night line-up on 'A', which also features
new drama series CASTLE, starring Canadian Nathan Fillion, premiering Monday,
March 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Also coming to 'A' in the coming weeks: AMERICA'S
NEXT TOP MODEL (Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT beginning February 25), the hit
series REAPER (Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT beginning March 3); and LATE NIGHT

    Joining new episodes of LOST, PRIVATE PRACTICE, ELEVENTH HOUR, and LAW &
ORDER, additional highlights on A's mid-season schedule include:

    -   TERMINATOR: SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES returns with new episodes Fridays
        at 8 p.m. ET/PT beginning February 13.
    -   Beginning March 8, cult hit GOSSIP GIRL moves to Sundays at 8 p.m.
        with new episodes of MEDIUM moving to Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
    -   Ratings juggernaut DANCING WITH THE STARS results shows air Tuesdays
        at 9 p.m. ET/PT beginning March 17.
    -   New episodes of the hit comedy series SAMANTHA WHO? move to Thursdays
        at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT beginning March 26.

    AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL (Season 12 Premiere)
    -   Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT beginning February 25

    In AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, host Tyra Banks, along with Canadian photo
shoot art director Jay Manuel, and runway guru J. Alexander, mentor the
participants through each of their weekly challenges. Banks leads the panel of
judges, comprised of leading fashion industry experts such as supermodel
Paulina Porizkova, photographer Nigel Barker and runway expert J. Alexander,
who closely evaluate the progress of the models and narrow the field each
week. In addition, special guest judges appear to critique the participants
within his or her area of expertise.

    -   Weeknights at 12:35 a.m. ET/PT beginning March 2

    Comedian and expert impersonator Jimmy Fallon (SNL) takes over the reigns
as the third host of the highly popular comedy-talk franchise LATE NIGHT WITH
JIMMY FALLON. Named one of the 20 greatest live acts in the world by Rolling
Stone Magazine, The Roots will bring their eclectic hip-hop sound to the new
LATE NIGHT show as the new house band. Executive produced by Canuck Lorne
Michaels (SNL), the show will continue to serve as a platform for comedy,
music and A-list talent out of Rockefeller Center Studio 6B in New York City.

    REAPER (Season 2, New to 'A')
    -   Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT beginning March 3

    For the first 20 years of his life, Sam Oliver (Bret Harrison, THE LOOP,
GROUNDED FOR LIFE) skated by on low effort and even lower expectations. He
bypassed college, took a dead-end job at the local Work Bench home improvement
store and wasted endless hours playing video games and goofing off with his
buddies. But on his 21st birthday, his parents finally revealed the ungodly
reason they'd let him slide all these years: they sold his soul to the devil
before he was born. His soul now claimed by Satan himself (Ray Wise, TWIN
PEAKS, 24), Sam has no choice but to work for the devil as a bounty hunter,
capturing fugitive souls who have escaped from Hell. Season 2 finds Sam
wrestling with the recent discovery that he may be the son of the devil.

    Season 8 features 13 new stars including the youngest competitor to date,

"wildboy." Love is in the air and on the dance floor this season as three real
life couples go head-to-head, including newly engaged professional dancers,
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff. Competitors dancing for the mirror
ball trophy this season are: 80s singer Belinda Carlisle; actor/comedian David
Alan Grier (CHOCOLATE NEWS); singer Jewel and her bull rider husband Ty
Murray; Olympic gold medal-winner Shawn Johnson; rapper/singer Lil'Kim; actor
Gilles Marini (Sex and the City); TV personality and daredevil performer
Steve-O, a.k.a. Stephen Glover (JACKASS); TV anchor/host Nancy O'Dell (ACCESS
HOLLYWOOD); actress Denise Richards (Denise Richards: It's Complicated); NFL
hall of famer Lawrence Taylor; country singer - and Julianne Hough's partner
on and off the dance floor - Chuck Wicks; and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
Hosted by Tom Bergeron (America's Funniest Home Videos) and Samantha Harris
(E! Entertainment), the celebrities will perform choreographed dance routines
which will be judged by renowned Ballroom judge Len Goodman and
dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba. DANCING WITH THE
STARS was a Top 20 series last fall with an average audience of 1.7 million
during performance shows and 1.5 million during result shows.(xx)

    CASTLE (Series Premiere)
    -   Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT beginning March 9

    Wildly famous mystery novelist Richard Castle (Canadian Nathan Fillion,
DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES) is bored with his own success. Then he learns that a
real-world copycat killer has started staging murder scenes depicted in his
novels. Castle is questioned by NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic,
Quantum of Solace), a bright and aggressive detective who keeps her
investigations under tight rein. Though they instantly clash, sparks of
another sort also begin to fly, leading both to danger and a hint of romance
as Castle steps in to help find the killer. And once that case is solved, he
and Beckett build on their new relationship as they look to solve more strange
homicides in New York - as much fun as one can have with death and murder.
