TORONTO, Jan. 21 /CNW/ - MuchMusic and MuchLOUD continue their tradition
of supporting critically-acclaimed homegrown artists and cutting-edge Canadian
music in the MuchOriginal special 2007 Polaris Music Prize. MuchMusic airs the
show Friday, Jan. 25 at 12 midnight ET on The Wedge, one of Canada's premier
tune-ins for emerging artists and ground-breaking music. The MuchLOUD channel
broadcasts the program Sunday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. ET.
The 2007 Polaris Music Prize broadcast includes performances by nominees
The Besnard Lakes, Chad VanGaalen, Joel Plaskett Emergency, Julie Doiron,
Miracle Fortress and this year's winner Patrick Watson.

helped fund music videos for many of the 2007 Polaris Music Prize nominees,

Voted on by members of the media from coast to coast, the prestigious
honour celebrates artistic integrity, without consideration to musical genre,
sales or professional affiliation. Considered an incredible independent
success story, Patrick Watson and his band garnered international interest
after his Polaris Prize win.
