MTV in Canada Scores Big Buzz Ratings with The Hills finale and The Hills After Show

    TORONTO, Dec. 12 /CNW/ - MTV in Canada mega hit The Hills and homegrown
smash The Hills After Show crushed the competition and made history for the
channel in one fell swoop on Monday as viewers in Canada and the U.S. ate up
each of these pop culture television phenoms in record-breaking numbers,
according to BBM Nielsen Media Research (based on overnight data). MTV in
Canada's unprecedented success extended online with loads of revelers
consuming all The Hills they could handle at
    Straight up, The Hills season three finale and The Hills After Show
dominated on Monday night as the most watched shows of all time on MTV in
Canada, reeling in 314,000 and 271,000 viewers (P2+) in their respective time
slots (10-10:30pm and 10:30-11pm). In the U.S., a whopping 4.6 million fans
(P12-34) watched The Hills finale and 86 per cent of them stayed locked to the
live simulcast of The Hills After Show, the North American hit produced in
Canada by MTV. It was the second most watched telecast for the night (8-11pm)
among P12-34 across all of U.S. television (behind only The Hills finale).
    In addition, 250,000 viewers (P12-34) made the The Hills finale sizzle to
Number 1 across all specialty channels broadcasting in Canada during MTV in
Canada's Monday 10 Spot (10-10:30pm). The same holds true for the 218,000
viewers (P12-34) who watched the 10:30-11pm airing of The Hills After Show.

    The Hills on has also seen tons of traffic. In the last two days
alone, there's been more than 1.9 million total video streams - the highest
combined total for any MTV series on (includes full episode streams of
The Hills and The Hills After Show, Monday's season finale red carpet pre-show
and sneak previews). At there's been a combined total of well over
1.7 million streams for MTV in Canada's The Hills After Show.

Spring 2008! All the drama kicks off as Lauren and Whitney travel to Paris to
