    - Arrival of the first ocean-going vessel in 2009 at the Port of Montreal

    MONTREAL, Jan. 1 /CNW Telbec/ - Mr. Patrice M. Pelletier, President and
Chief Executive Officer of the Montreal Port Authority (MPA), invites the
media to accompany the delegation he will lead to extend a warm welcome and
best wishes to the captain M. H. Rossiter and crew of the Maersk Patras, the
first ocean-going vessel to reach the Port of Montreal without a stopover this
    Flying the United Kingdom flag, the Maersk Patras is a  containership
operated by the Maersk shipping line, represented in Montreal by the Robert
Reford agency. The Maersk Patras left the Port of Rotterdam in The Netherlands
on December 23 at 10:00 AM, and  crossed the Port of Montreal's downstream
limits at Sorel this morning at 00:03 AM.
