XETRA: MOP) ("Moneta") is pleased to announce the appointment of Warren Bates
to the Board of Directors.
Warren Bates, P.Geo serves as Senior Vice President, Exploration of
Pelangio Exploration Inc. ("Pelangio") and is responsible for all of
Pelangio's exploration activities in Canada and Ghana, including new project

Mr. Bates holds two Bachelor of Science degrees (Hons. Geology and
Chemisty) from the University of Manitoba and has over 22 years of experience
in the mining and exploration industry. He previously held the position of
Vice President, Exploration for St. Andrew Goldfields Ltd. ("St. Andrew").
Prior to his tenure at St. Andrew, he worked over 20 years for Granges Inc.
and its successor company, Vista Gold Inc., in various roles from District
Geologist to International Exploration Manager. Mr. Bates has operated and
managed exploration programs in North and South America which resulted in a
number of gold discoveries, completed evaluations on corporate acquisitions,
conducted pre-feasibility and feasibility studies in a range of mine

President and CEO of Moneta, effective immediately. Rod Whyte has been named
Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Peres previously held the position of
CEO of Moneta and Mr. Whyte previously held the position of President of
Moneta. Both Mr. Peres and Mr. Whyte remain as directors of Moneta.
