Minister Cansfield should quit stalling and live up to commitments made by Premier McGuinty

OTTAWA, July 11 /CNW Telbec/ - Minister of Natural Resources,
Donna Cansfield has made yet another commitment to the forest industry that
she will set up a committee of industry representatives selected by her to
look into concerns raised by industry, workers and municipalities over the
implementation of the Endangered Species Act.
"Premier Dalton McGuinty made the commitment that such a committee would
be comprised of industry representatives that are still operating mills and
employing people in Ontario. Minister Donna Cansfield should live up to the
commitment," says Administrative Vice-President Kim Ginter.
"It seems the current Minister of Natural Resources prefers to handpick
committee members without regard as to whether they really represent broader
industry and further delay the process," says Mr. Kim Ginter.
This Committee must truly represent the forest industry and must begin
its work immediately in order to prevent the loss of even more forestry jobs
in the Province.
