Millionaire Life grand prize claimed!

WINNIPEG, March 28 /CNW/ - The MILLIONAIRE LIFE Grand Prize of $1 Million
a Year for 25 Years, or a single cash payment of $17 Million, has been
claimed. Twenty-one-year-old Jagtesh Grewal and his 45-year-old uncle Gurinder
Grewal, both of Winnipeg, claimed the prize this morning at the Western Canada
Lottery Corporation office in Winnipeg. The pair, who received the single cash
payment of $17 Million, delayed their claim for four weeks as they awaited the
arrival of Jagtesh's father from India.
Jagtesh, a Business Administration university student, purchased the
winning MILLIONAIRE LIFE ticket (a $20 ticket with seven Selections), but it
was his uncle who discovered their good fortune. "I went into work around 6:30
a.m. the morning after the draw (March 1st) and saw an Internet printout of
the winning numbers on my desk," recalled Gurinder, an aerospace repair and
overhaul technician and father of two. "When I saw that all the numbers in my
Selection (103546-77) matched, I remember thinking, 'Too much excitement is
not good for the heart!' News of the win spread quickly throughout his
workplace after a co-worker screamed, "You won, you won!"
Gurinder immediately called his nephew with the good news. "I was
asleep," laughed Jagtesh. "I asked him, 'Is something wrong? Why are you so
tense?' When he told me the news. I thought that he had to be kidding; no one
can expect that to happen. Then I jumped out of bed!"
While the pair has not finalized plans for their sudden windfall, Jagtesh
is already the proud owner of a new Mustang convertible, and he'll likely
travel to India and perhaps Germany after the school year. Travel is also on
the horizon for Gurinder this summer, with Cuba, Cancun and Hawaii possible
This is the 6th lottery prize of $1 Million or more claimed in Manitoba
in the past two months. MILLIONAIRE LIFE was a national lottery game offered
throughout Canada during the month of February. The winning MILLIONAIRE LIFE
ticket was purchased at Redwood Husky, 1567 Arlington Street in Winnipeg.

Revenue generated from Manitoba Lotteries gaming products and services
have a direct and positive impact on Manitobans with net revenue allocated
towards government programs in health care, education, social and community
services and economic development.
