Metro Vancouver transit operators' union president in Ottawa Tuesday November 13 to support MP's private member's bill to increase Criminal Code penalties for attacks on bus drivers

    VANCOUVER, Nov. 12 /CNW/ - The president of the union representing Metro
Vancouver transit operators is in Ottawa Tuesday to support a private member's
bill introduced by NDP MP Peter Julian that would increase Criminal Code of
Canada penalties for attacks on bus drivers.
    Canadian Auto Workers Local 111 President Steve Sutherland will join
representatives from other transit union locals across Canada at a news
conference on Tuesday November 13 at 9:30 a.m. BC time.
    Sutherland will be available for comment from Ottawa following the news
conference, after approximately 10 a.m. BC time.
