Métis Nation of Alberta congratulates new Federal Interlocutor for Métis



    EDMONTON, Aug. 15 /CNW/ - Audrey Poitras, President of the Métis Nation
of Alberta (MNA) looks forward to working with Chuck Strahl, the newly
appointed Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal
Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians.
    "We welcome Chuck Strahl as Minister of Indian Affairs," President
Poitras said. "We look forward to building a relationship with the new
Minister."
    "I would also like to thank Jim Prentice, who held the portfolio for the
past 18 months," she continued. "I had the opportunity to meet with him on
several occasions and he was always very supportive of the MNA and in helping
us move our agenda forward."
