LONGUEUIL, QC, June 4 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain
Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ)
wish to inform the public of the closure of the access ramp to the Mercier
Bridge from La Prairie, from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, until 5:00 p.m. on
Sunday, June 7.
Road signs will inform motorists of the bypass road to be used over the
weekend. Motorists coming from La Prairie will use the ramp connecting Route
132 to Route 138. The Route 207 exit (chemin Saint-Isidore) will allow them to
get back on Route 138 in the opposite direction, and access the bridge by the
access ramp from Châteauguay (ramp 4).
This site work will allow for the relocation of the cabin, which controls
traffic volume (manual traffic light), located between ramps 2 and 4; more
specifically, at the junction between the access ramps to the bridge from
Châteauguay and La Prairie. Traffic management, however, will be carried out
Also, please note that access to Route 207 (chemin Saint-Isidore) by
Highway 30 will also be closed to motorists during this same period, in order
to avoid an accumulation of vehicles on Route 207.
