Medworxx Announces General Availability of Emergency Readiness System for Hospitals

TORONTO, March 31 /CNW/ - Medworxx, the makers of a strategic software
platform that hospitals use to communicate, aggregate, and analyze knowledge,
announced the General Availability of their Emergency Readiness System (ERS).
The product will initially be implemented at a strategic group of hospitals,
health centers, and emergency management regions who are all part of Medworxx'
Early Adopter program for ERS. Medworxx has sold ERS to five customers (four
in the US and one in Canada) who are currently implementing the solution.
Medworxx ERS is a web-based platform designed to enhance a hospital's
resiliency in the face of disasters and every day emergencies.
"Medworxx provides a tool box of resources for hospital emergency
managers to more effectively organize their increasingly complex
responsibilities," said Dr. Carl Goodman, Director Disaster & Emergency at
Brookehaven Medical Center in New York. Medworxx ERS maximizes efficiency and
flexibility in a hospital's current Mitigation, Preparation, Response and
Recovery cycle by enhancing collaboration, cooperation and communication
within and between facilities.
"Our health region looks forward to being one of the first to implement
this software to improve the way we communicate and manage our emergencies and
disasters," said Ian Turner, Quality Management Supervisor, Emergency Medical
Services in Palliser Health Region, located in south-eastern Alberta. "The
software will allow the Palliser Health Region to provide a vast amount of
information to staff, physicians, media, and public, as well as tracking and
recording capabilities throughout the spectrum of a disaster, from
preparedness to recovery. This software program will be an incredibly valuable
resource to help protect the people within our region."
The early adopters will be playing an active role in helping to guide,
define and test product functionality, workflow, and enhancements to the
Medworxx ERS, including areas such as tracking of resources, skills, exercises
and drills, and providing readiness assessment reports. The early adopters
will also be founding members of the Medworxx Emergency Readiness System
Product Advisory Group.
"ERS is an exciting addition to the Medworxx product suite," said Dan
Matlow, President and CEO, Medworxx. "It is built on our existing, proven
platform that is in place at over 250 hospitals across North America. Medworxx
ERS will provide hospital management and emergency preparedness teams with the
tools they will need to ensure the hospital is fully prepared for emergencies
- addressing the Joint Commission mandated all-hazards approach to emergency
management as well as being NIMS, ICS, and HICS compatible."
