Medical Intelligence realigns senior management - appointment of new President & CEO

    QUEBEC CITY, Oct. 5 /CNW/ - As part of its efforts to strengthen its
management team and maximize marketing efforts, the Board of Directors of
Medical Intelligence Technologies (TSX-V: MIZ) is pleased to announce the
following appointments: Mr. Philippe Huneault is named to the position of
President and Chief Executive Officer; Mr. Louis Massicotte to Founder and
Product Manager; and Mr. Jean-Pierre Philippe to President of Medical Mobile,
the Company's French subsidiary. These appointments will enable the Company to
be better positioned to meet its current challenges of marketing the Columba,
a GPS bracelet intended to prevent wandering by Alzheimer's patients, and
Urgentys, a GPS mobile panic button, in a number of domestic markets.
    Mr. Huneault, a member of the Company's Board of Directors since June
2006, will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of Medical
Intelligence and will focus exclusively on the supervision of the parent
Company's operations.
    Mr. Huneault has worked mainly in the field of international
telecommunications. He has held various senior positions, including Vice
President Strategic Opportunities at Telesystem International Wireless, where
he played a leading role in the development of business opportunities in
European markets. His experience in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada as former
Co-President of Echo Capital, a venture capital firm that he co-founded, will
also be of great benefit to Medical Intelligence.
    "Mr. Huneault's vast knowledge of these markets and his expertise in
developing partnerships in the telecommunications industry will be highly
beneficial to the Company," noted Mr. Louis Massicotte, the Company's Founder
and former CEO.
    Mr. Massicotte will continue to serve as President of the wholly owned
subsidiaries of Medical Intelligence based in Spain and the United Kingdom,
which operate under the Medical Mobile banner. To more effectively devote his
attention on the next-generation Columba bracelet, Mr. Massicotte will return
to his initial role as Product Manager. He will continue to serve on the
Company's Board of Directors and will continue to oversee public
    Mr. Jean-Pierre Philippe will now head Medical Mobile, the Company's
French subsidiary. Most recently, Mr. Philippe was Corporate Secretary at the
aeronautics giant EADS (creator of the Airbus and a number of security
products), and was previously President of EADS Telecom. Mr. Philippe has a
thorough understanding of the inner workings of the French government as well
as expertise in the commercialization of state-of-the-art technologies.
