TORONTO, April 14 /CNW/ - Groundbreaking research on major issues
involving family caregivers and the seniors they care for will be revealed in
a Webinar for the Media on April 15, 2009 (tomorrow), at 11 a.m. (EST). The
research study, conducted by home care provider Home Instead Senior Care,
involved surveys with family caregivers and seniors across Canada. The results
indicate some glaring concerns, as well as misconceptions.
The study, which includes a demographic breakdown about caregivers and
seniors, identifies and ranks the issues of most concern. It examines the
implications and impact involving such things as: proximity of the senior to
the family caregiver, finances, quality of life and stress. The Webinar for
the Media will include a 30-minute presentation on the results of the research
study, followed by a Q&A. Source materials for the media will be available.
Brian Mainwaring and Scott Johnson of Home Instead Senior Care will lead the
Seniors over age 65 are now the fastest-growing segment in Canada. Our
rapidly aging society has deep implications for families, and this survey
