Media notice - Council of the Federation Will Meet in Québec City July 16-18, 2008 - Media accreditation required

    OTTAWA, June 6 /CNW Telbec/ - As incoming Chair of the Council of the
Federation, Québec Premier Jean Charest will host the 2008 Summer Meeting of
the Council of the Federation on July 16-18 at the Fairmont Le Château
Frontenac in Québec City. The meeting will be held during the 400th
anniversary celebrations of the founding of Québec City.

    Media Accreditation

    Media representatives who wish to attend the Council of the Federation
Summer Meeting must register online and complete an application for
accreditation, which is available at Click on
the link to "Media Registration". Applicants will be screened to ensure they
are official media representatives. Media must register by June 16, 2008.

    Media Accommodations

    Media representatives are responsible for making their own reservations.

    Media representatives must make their reservations no later than June 16,
2008 in order to qualify for a special group rate of $199 at the Château
Laurier and $179 at the Château Bellevue. After this date, room availability
will not be guaranteed.

    Media Work Room

    A media work room will be located at the Salle de bal Room of the Fairmont
Le Château Frontenac. This room will be equipped with Internet access, power
outlets and television monitors. A news conference area and a uni-mic area
will be located nearby.
