Media lock-up for the first issue of the Bank of Canada's Senior Loan Officer Survey

    OTTAWA, Oct. 7 /CNW Telbec/ - On Friday, 10 October 2008, the Bank of
Canada will hold a lock-up for the first issue of its Senior Loan Officer
Survey, a quarterly survey of the business-lending practices of major Canadian
financial institutions. The Senior Loan Officer Survey helps the Bank assess
the current business-borrowing environment and is an important input into the
Bank's monitoring of current credit conditions.
The Bank has been conducting this survey since 1999. It complements
information collected in the Bank's Business Outlook Survey. As part of the
Bank's ongoing commitment to share economic data that feed into the conduct of
monetary policy, results of these quarterly surveys will be published
simultaneously starting on 10 October.
