Media invitation - Ralph Nader speaks today to the four billion dollar question at the Engineers Without Borders National Conference

    MONTREAL, Jan. 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Political activist and former
US Presidential candidate Ralph Nader will engage 700 members of EWB, business
leaders and government officials with his perspectives on creating change this
Friday, January 18 at the Hilton Bonaventure in Montreal. Drawing on his
remarkable past achievements in the arenas of politics and social justice,
Mr. Nader will illustrate how we as individuals can make a difference.
    Mr. Nader's address will follow a keynote panel examining the
effectiveness of the nearly $4 billion Canada spends annually on foreign aid.
The panel will feature renowned speakers including John Watson, past president
and CEO of CARE Canada, Robert Calderisi, author of The Trouble with Africa:
Why Foreign Aid Isn't Working, and Ian Smillie, development expert and author
of Mastering the Machine. Their discussion will focus on how Canada's foreign
aid can become more effective. Immediately following the panel, Shauna
Sylvester, founder of Canada's World and a Fellow at Simon Fraser University
will also deliver an address.
