Media invitation - Press conference - Launch of the new Ranking of Quebec High Schools 2008



    MONTREAL, Oct. 20 /CNW Telbec/ - L'actualité magazine and the Montreal
Economic Institute will launch the Ranking of Quebec High Schools 2008
(Palmarès des écoles secondaires du Québec 2008) on Thursday, October 23, at
10 a.m.
    This tool provides the most complete evaluation of every high school in
Quebec, in the public and private sectors, French and English. It will contain
many improvements and additional information, some of which will respond to
criticisms of past editions. This portrait is also the only one that will
enable parents and teachers to have a better idea now of each school's
contribution to their students' success.
    This special issue of L'actualité magazine will be available at the press
conference and a day later on newsstands.

    PRESS CONFERENCE

    The full results and ranking will be released at a joint press conference
chaired by Réal Germain and Carole Beaulieu, respectively the publisher and
editor-in-chief of L'actualité, and by Marcel Boyer, vice president and chief
economist of the Montreal Economic Institute. Mr. Boyer will present the
results of the Palmarès with Mathieu Laberge, co-author of the study and an
economist at the Institute. All spokespersons will be available to answer
questions.
