TORONTO, Aug. 28 /CNW/ - Ontario's Chief Electoral Officer, John Hollins,
announced today that the returning offices for the 107 electoral districts are
open in advance of the October 10 provincial election and referendum.
Qualified electors may contact their returning office to have their names
added to the Voters List, confirm or update their information, or obtain
information about applying for a job as an election worker. They can also
apply online for a job as an election worker by visiting www.elections.on.ca.
To be eligible to vote, on October 10, 2007, a person must be:
- 18 years of age or older, and
- a Canadian citizen, and
- a resident of an electoral district in Ontario.
Returning office locations and phone numbers may be obtained from the
Elections Ontario website www.elections.on.ca or by calling 1-888-ONT-VOTE
Elections Ontario is the non-partisan agency responsible for
administering provincial elections, by-elections and referenda.
