Media Alert - Teamsters Hit The Tees For Variety's Kids

TORONTO, June 15 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, June 16, the Ontario Teamsters,
Employers and Friends of Variety - The Children's Charity will host the 20th
Annual Ontario Teamsters Invitational Golf Tournament in support of Variety's
kids and Variety Village.

The 20th Annual Ontario Teamsters Invitational, one of the most successful
and enjoyable events in the city, is raising funds for children with
disabilities. "Even with this tough economy, the OTI's goal this year is
$80,000," says Randy Doner, President, Teamsters Joint Council No. 52 and
Co-chair of the OTI Committee.
The Ontario Teamsters have committed to raising $750,000 over a five year
period until 2011. At the 2007 and 2008 tournaments they raised a total of
$290,000! "It is vitally important for Variety Village to have the support of
community partners like the Ontario Teamsters and their employers. Without
them Variety could not provide unique and inclusive opportunities for children
with disabilities," says Variety's CEO, John Willson.
