Media Alert - Children's NGO Plan Attacked in Pakistan: Plan Canada CEO Available for Comment

    TORONTO, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - A regional office of Plan International, the
leading children's NGO in Pakistan, was attacked Monday by a group of six to
12 men carrying guns and grenades. Three local Plan staff were killed in the
attack, and several others have been injured. The men entered the regional
office in Mansehra, North West Frontier Province, before opening fire
indiscriminately and then setting off three explosive devices. The office
building has burned to the ground. A security team has been dispatched to the

has a long-standing relationship with the Mansehra office, which is
spearheading the rebuilding efforts of the education system destroyed by the
2005 earthquake. Plan works with local communities throughout the country to
provide education and other opportunities to children.
