Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity - NHL, NHLPA give go ahead to limited testing of revolutionary skate blade during NHL games

Therma Blade Inc. and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky launching heated skate
blade at Hockey Hall of Fame

    TORONTO, Oct. 15 /CNW/ -

WHAT Canadian skate blade maker Therma Blade Inc. is giving the media
its first up-close look at the revolutionary new Thermablade
heated skate blade that today received consent for limited testing
by the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League
Players' Association. About eight to 10 NHL players will begin
using Thermablade during upcoming games and practices. The NHL and
NHLPA will use the testing phase to evaluate Thermablade's
potential for use in NHL competition on a broader scale.

Media are invited to meet Therma Blade Inc. executives - including
the heated blade's inventor - on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 at the
Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto during the official North American
launch of skate technology that also has the backing of hockey
           legend Wayne Gretzky.

An early prototype of this Canadian invention will also be
presented to the Hockey Hall of Fame to celebrate the evolution of
           Canada's game.

Canadian skate blade maker Therma Blade Inc. is a Quebec-based
manufacturer of heated skate blade technology that was invented by Alberta
resident Tory Weber. Therma Blade is a technologically advanced skate blade
that uses battery powered electrical energy to slightly heat the skate blade,
thereby increasing the layer of water between the blade and the ice surface
and reducing friction at the ice surface. Therma Blade has several proven
physiological and performance benefits for hockey players, including a
dramatic reduction in gliding friction and starting resistance, an overall
increase in stamina and an overall decrease in fatigue. More information on
