One of the largest environmental dinners of the year to raise funds and
awareness of the importance of the conservation of Ontario's green spaces

- 14th Annual Charles Sauriol Environmental Dinner For The Living
- Wednesday, Nov. 7, Pearson Convention Center, Brampton, 7 pm.
- Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will deliver the keynote address at the
Charles Sauriol Environmental Dinner.
- Charles Sauriol, who was awarded the Order of Canada at 83 for
keeping Canada green, was responsible for the acquisition of
500 natural areas in Ontario alone. The annual dinner in his
memory is one of the largest environmental gatherings in the GTA.
- Toronto and Region Conservation (TRCA) and the Oak Ridges Moraine
Land Trust will showcase what has been done and will be done to
preserve the fragile ecosystem of the GTA, one of the fastest
growing regions in Canada.
- Senator Nancy Ruth, Jane Glassco and Brian Buckles will be
honoured for their substantial contribution to the protection of
significant green space.

- Attendees include TRCA representatives, mayors, municipal leaders,
Regional Chair of Durham Roger Anderson, honourees Senator Nancy
Ruth, Jane Glassco and Brian Buckles.
"Right now Ontario is losing up to 60 acres of fertile land a day to
development. Land donation programs ensure protection of the GTA's delicate
ecosystem," said Gerri-Lynn O'Connor, chair, Toronto and Region Conservation.
"It will be up to today's generation to preserve Ontario's waterways,
forests, and endangered species. Our educational programs are helping to make
this possible and we thank Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for helping our youth better
connect with the land and become stronger environmental advocates," stated
Andre Flys, president, Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust.
ABOUT THE CHARLES SAURIOL ENVIRONMENTAL DINNER FOR THE LIVING CITY:
First held in 1994, the dinner honours the lifelong conservation efforts
of the late Charles Sauriol. Now in its 14th year, the dinner has raised over
$550,000 to help preserve Ontario's green spaces.
