Media Advisory/Interview Opportunity - Two time heart transplant recipient and professional golfer to showcase new 3-D echocardiography system

TORONTO, June 15 /CNW/ - Erik Compton, PGA Tour Professional and two time
heart transplant recipient, will witness first hand the state-of-the-art
echocardiograph system that will be purchased by monies raised by the 12th
annual RSM Richter Golf Tournament for the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre. These
funds will allow the purchase of a second echocardiography system that can
generate 3-dimensional measurements of the heart in less than one minute.
Erik will be touring the Echocardiology Lab at the Peter Munk Cardiac
Centre on Wednesday June 17th, 2009 at 9:00am.
Erik is the only known professional athlete to have undergone two heart
transplants. He is in Toronto to participate in the 12th annual RSM Richter
Golf Tournament and to show support for more than five million Canadians that
suffer from various forms of heart disease.
Dr. Robert J. Cusimano, a leading cardiovascular surgeon at the
world-renowned Peter Munk Cardiac Centre at Toronto General Hospital, will
also be available to discuss the benefits of this new echocardiograph system
and to answer questions about the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre and the 30 heart
transplants that are performed there each year.
Robert Harlang, a partner in the corporate restructuring group at RSM
Richter is also available to discuss the RSM Richter Golf Tournament, which
has raised more than $1 million in the past 12 years in support of
health-related causes, including this recent donation to the Peter Munk
Cardiac Centre.
