Media advisory for Friday, June 29th - Kathleen Edwards to Perform at First Nations' National Day of Action, June 29th in Ottawa

    All First Nations and Canadians are invited to join the March of
    Solidarity from Ottawa City Hall at noon (12 PM) to Victoria Island


    See Kathleen Edwards perform on the Victoria Island Stage.

    Kathleen is praised for her 2003 indie album "Failer" and her 2005 album
    "Back to Me".

    She was named one of Rolling Stone's 10 artists to watch in 2003.

    She's opened for Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones.

    The National Day of Action is an opportunity for First Nations and
    Canadians to stand together in unity for a better life for all First
    Nations peoples.

    Schedule of events

    June 28th Sacred Fires lit at 9PM, Victoria Island (access off the
    Chaudiere Bridge, behind Parliament Hill)

    June 29th, 7AM Pipe Ceremony, Victoria Island

    12 noon: March of Solidarity begins at Ottawa City Hall, Festival Plaza

    1PM: Victoria Stage event starts with Grandfather William Commanda,
    National Chief Phil Fontaine, Buzz Hargrove and performance by Kathleen
