Media Advisory: Education Quality and Accountability Office to release highlights of provincial testing results

    TORONTO, Aug. 28 /CNW/ - At 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2007, the
Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) will release
provincial-level student achievement results on the 2006-2007 Assessments of
Reading, Writing and Mathematics, Primary Division (Grades 1-3) and Junior
Division (Grades 4-6), and the Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics. Highlights
of these results will be posted on EQAO's Web site,, along with
an overview of student achievement by subgroup, including results by gender,
English as a second language or English literacy development learners and
students with special needs.
    On September 19, EQAO will release the full Provincial Report, 2006-2007,
for the primary and junior divisions and Grade 9, including subgroup and
contextual data, a summary of findings and strategies for success. Schools and
boards will have their results under embargo until that date. They will be
able to speak about their results on September 19 and after.
    Detailed school and board reports and school success stories will also be
publicly released on September 19.
