Media Advisory: Annual Report Card on Cancer in Canada(TM) to be Released

    TORONTO, Feb. 11 /CNW/ -

    WHAT: Media are invited to join the Cancer Advocacy Coalition of Canada
            (CACC) as we present important highlights from our annual Report
            Card on Cancer in Canada(TM):

        Cancer Drug Costs: Who is bearing the burden of cancer costs today,
        private or public payers?

        Cancer Drug Access and Public Funding Status: A province-by-province
        review of access to cancer drugs featured in past reports, plus an
        analysis of new therapies. How do the provinces rank in providing new
        cancer therapies, and what are the new trends?

        PET Scanning: Progress in access to PET scanning, but significant
        regional differences persist.

        Cancer Research: Canada needs ongoing public scrutiny of cancer
        research objectives and results.

        Young Adult Cancer Patients: The forgotten generation. Does the
        cancer system understand the unique needs of this population?

        Supportive Care and the Role of Nurses: Oncology nurses report
        variable levels of supportive care services for cancer patients
        across the country and too much time lost to non-nursing duties.
