               Teacher of the Year. Each year MusiCan, CARAS' music education
               program, selects and recognizes one outstanding Canadian music

    WHO:       Internationally acclaimed Canadian recording artist will
               deliver a congratulatory video message to the MusiCan Teacher
               of the Year.

               Melanie Berry, President, CARAS will make a special
               Presentation to the Recipient and the school's music program.

    About MusiCan

    MusiCan, the national music education charity of CARAS (Canadian Academy
of Recording Arts and Sciences), includes Band Aid musical instrument grants,
the MusiCan Teacher of the Year Award, Scholarships and other music education
initiatives. Including this year's contributions and since the Program's
establishment in 1997, over 2.3 million will be donated impacting 164 post
secondary music program graduates and 120,732 individual students, their
schools and communities, from coast to coast. MusiCan also continues to honour
extraordinary music teachers.
