Media Advisory - Which 15 will rise above the rest at the Sprite(R) Throw Down for the Crown Amateur Dunk Competition?

    TORONTO, Oct. 31 /CNW/ - Join us Saturday, November 1, 2008 as top
amateur dunkers rock the rim at the first Sprite(R) Throw Down for the Crown
Amateur Dunk Competition. From tomahawks to two-handed dunks, watch as
500 contestants battle for the top 15 spots and the chance to move on to one
of five monthly competitions taking place during halftime at Toronto Raptors
home games. During the monthly competitions, fans in attendance will vote for
their favourite dunk via text message. The final competition will feature the
five monthly winners and take place at the Toronto Raptors game on April 5,
2009. The winner will be crowned Dunk King and win a trip to the 2010 NBA
All-Star Weekend.

    Time:        2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

    Location:    Practice Court, Air Canada Centre, Toronto (enter through
                 Gate 1)
