Media Advisory - What's happening to Ontario renters?

TORONTO, June 5 /CNW/ - Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)
will release its Spring Rental Market Report Wednesday June 6, 2007. What's
happening to the people behind the statistics? The Advocacy Centre for Tenants
Ontario (ACTO) will analyze CMHC's survey of rents, vacancy rates and
affordability and provide comment.
"Ontario's low-income tenants have been squeaking by in the face of
declining incomes and increasing rents," says Mary Truemner, Staff Lawyer at
the Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario. "Can tenants afford to live in
Ontario any more?"

The Advocacy Centre for Tenants Ontario is a specialty legal clinic
funded by Legal Aid Ontario.
